Hi there! We want to let you know how we collect and use your information so that you can feel comfortable sharing it with us. This Privacy Policy outlines the way we at Paper Studio  PtyLtd (ABN 93 662 667 307) ("we", "us", "our") collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND WHY

1.1 What personal information do we collect?

The personal information we collect is generally limited to:

  • your name and contact details (including email address, phone number and delivery address);

  • order information and purchase history;

  • financial information, such as your credit card or debit card details (processed securely via our payment provider); and

  • information about how you use our website, via third parties such as analytics services; and

  • any content you choose to upload or provide to us for the personalisation of your products, such as images, names, nicknames or other text.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information. Our products are not directed at children, and we do not ask for your age or specifically request personal information from children. However, we do not restrict purchases by age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

1.2 How do we collect your personal information?

We collect your personal information in the following ways:

  • directly from you, when you place an order, fill out a form on our website, contact us by email, phone or social media, or subscribe to our mailing list;

  • from third parties, such as analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel), payment processors, and our print-on-demand fulfilment partners; and

  • automatically, through cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website.

We also use cookies on our website. These are small bits of data that help our website work better, keep you logged in, and help us improve your experience. You can adjust your cookie settings in your browser, though some features of our website may not function properly if you disable cookies.

Third-party analytics services may use cookies, web beacons and similar technology to collect or receive information about your activity on our website and elsewhere on the internet.

1.3 Why do we collect your personal information?

We collect and use your personal information to:

  • process and fulfil your orders, including passing your delivery address to our third-party print-on-demand fulfilment partners;

  • communicate with you about your orders, enquiries and our products;

  • verify your identity for security purposes;

  • send you marketing communications if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time);

  • conduct our business and enable your use of our website; and

  • comply with our legal obligations, such as financial record-keeping (generally 7 years).

We also use personal information to analyse and improve our business operations and enhance your experience with us. This includes using statistical information to analyse website traffic and personalise content and advertising.

You can opt out of Google advertising here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. To change your Facebook ad preferences, visit "Facebook Help Centre" > "Manage my account" > "Ad preferences". To unsubscribe from our emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.

2. WHEN WE DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

2.1 Disclosure to third parties

We use reasonable precautions to keep your information safe and secure. We will generally not disclose your personal information unless:

  • you have given us consent;

  • it is required by law or a court order; or

  • it is necessary to provide you with our products and services.

We may disclose your personal information to third-party service providers who assist us with our business, including:

  • our print-on-demand fulfilment partners (who require your delivery address to process and ship your order — these partners may be located outside Australia);

  • analytics and advertising service providers (such as Google and Meta);

  • payment processors; and

  • data storage providers.

We do our best to ensure that the providers we use comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations. Where a third-party provider is located outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

2.2 Cross-border disclosure

Because our print-on-demand fulfilment is carried out by partners located around the world (your order is printed and shipped from the location closest to you), your personal information (specifically your name and delivery address) will be disclosed to overseas recipients. By placing an order with us, you consent to this disclosure. We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

We may also disclose personal information to other overseas service providers for analytics, data storage, payment processing or advertising. We ensure that any overseas recipients of your personal information are subject to laws or contractual obligations that are substantially similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.

2.3 How to access or delete your information

If you would like to access, correct or delete your personal information, or change your communication preferences, please contact us at hello@paperstudio.store. We will assist you unless we are required by law to withhold the information.

If you have a privacy concern that we have not resolved to your satisfaction, you can make a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

  • Phone: 1300 363 992

  • Online: www.oaic.gov.au ("Lodge a Privacy Complaint")

  • Post: Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001

3. SECURITY

We keep all personal information secure and confidential. Access is limited to authorised personnel only. We collect what is necessary and retain it only for as long as is required for the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law. We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, destruction or disclosure, including SSL encryption and PCI DSS-compliant payment processing.

4. ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS FOR EUROPEAN AND UK RESIDENTS

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have certain rights and protections under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK Data Protection Act 2018. We are a "controller" of your personal information under those laws.

We will always rely on a lawful basis for processing your information, including your express consent or compliance with a legal obligation. As an EEA or UK resident, you have rights including the right to be informed, access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@paperstudio.store.

In some circumstances we may continue to process your information after you have withdrawn consent where we have a legal basis to do so, for example to comply with a legal obligation or to protect the security of our services.

5. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. We encourage you to check it periodically.

Thank you for trusting us with your personal information. We will always do our best to keep it safe and use it responsibly.
